Let's Play Failure

Alright I'm back, but none of you are....

SO, It's been a long time since I actually did anything with this, and I decided that it was about time that I started making money from Google I started making reviews again. It will be different this time, I will hopefully be able to get games earlier, and I will also hopefully be able to do let's plays. (I hope the let's plays happen soon). BUT I diverge, I think that it would be awesome if I could do a complete flip on this site, especially since its probably been inactive for a good 6 months to a year. So, just so I restate everything.

Portal 2.... Review Time

I have officially played through Portal 2 and played some co-op. I haven't played through all the co-op, mostly since PSN has been down for a while. So without further ado here is the review of Portal 2.

Story: The story of Portal 2 begins in a room where you do some "calibration".You are in the shoes of Chell, as you were in the original Portal. You really just do some looking around the room to get used to the controls. The comedy of Portal 2 also starts off right from the beginning. I really do not want to spoil too much of the story so I am sorry about how short this is going to be. You help out a robot named Wheatley. You end up turning on GLaDOS with the "help" of Wheatley. Portal 2 brings laughs and laughs, and I recommend playing this game twice to catch things you may have missed. The Co-op version is pretty fun, and I recommend playing this version whenever you have friend that is competent enough to play as either Atlas or P-body. 

Gameplay: The gameplay is much like the original, but with a few new added elements. The Co-op gameplay is pretty fun, but some of the puzzles are really difficult. But back to the single player, the new added elements are "paint". There are multiple kinds of "paint", Blue makes you bounce higher, Orange makes you go faster, and White allows you to put portals in more places. With this new added element from Tag: The Power of Paint, a student made game that Valve got in contact with the makers. I found the game to be extremely fun but difficult at times. One other thing I disliked about it was the loading time, but that was not such a big deal with me (seeing as I have played Gran Turismo 5).

Graphics: The graphics of this game were extremely good, or at least I thought so. I thought the ending scene was probably one of the greatest scenes I have seen come from the PS3. I absolutely thought that the art style was absolutely perfect for the game. One other thing is that the Paint physics were extremely good.

Overall: This game had very few flaws, it may be a short game but I think it deserves a second play-through to see all of the hidden jokes you might have missed the first time. The Graphics were great and Gameplay was as well.

Review #1, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Ratchet and Clank has been one of my favorite games since the ps2. I have played through all of them (except Quest for Booty as well as Secret Agent Clank), and I have to say one of the greatest series of all time. Then again you have to enjoy third-person shooters, and even *gasp* jokes.

Storyline: This one takes off immediately from Quest for Booty,or so I've been told, and don't worry you don't have to play Quest for Booty to understand this. Though I would recommend playing Tools of Destruction to understand the backstory, as well as Up Your Arsenal on the PS2 <---- though not needed on this one. The game takes place in the future, and you play as an bipedal anthropomorphic cat, or Ratchet the Lombax. He has been thought to be one of the last of his kind. Turns out he is not. You also get to play as Clank, a robot, who in the earlier games was just a backpack with a few cool things he could do for you, such as hover across longer distances. But in this one he has the power to reverse time, and cool stuff like that. The Story in this game is pretty good for the Ratchet and Clank Series.

Gameplay: Since you no longer have Clank as a backpack, it is a much different gameplay, or it was to me anyways. This game does have a lot of the same gameplay to it though, even though Clank is gone. Yes there are new worlds and new puzzles, but a lot of things returned, such as the grindrails. Don't get me wrong, I love a good grindrail (wow that sounded a little wrong), but having to do it a million times (over-exaggerating) gets a little annoying. They did have hoverboots, which are boots that make you go faster. There were new gadgets and  a lot of other things that added a lot of good gameplay. One other thing is that Clank's gameplay was probably one of the funnest parts of the game, as well as one of the most frustrating parts. Clank's gameplay was basically figuring out puzzles, much like the flash game chronotron ( which I recommend playing). 

Graphics: Pretty good for a PS3 game, much better than Tools of Destruction. The art-style stayed much like every other game in the series. Really not much to put here except that the Graphics looked good and reminded me of other games in the series. I don't know much to say except Insomniac knows how to push their games.

Overall: Great game that has great new gameplay to it. Loved how they brought back some of the old stuff, as well as new stuff. A must buy for any Ratchet and Clank fan.
